Mandarin Style Roasted Pork

One of the best ways to cook meat is to roast it, if it's done correct you can have one of the juicest and tastiest pieces of meat you ever pot into your mouth and if that roast is a nice piece of pork then you really have some good eating on your hands .....again if it's done the right way.

Making a roasted pork is not really the hard part it's adding the right seasonings and spices to to give it the flavor you want that piece of meat to have.........Now that is where it gets fun because you have a choice of what you want your meat to taste like and for this piece of pork I'm sharing with you the flavor profile I want is Mandarin Style flavors that are bold and strong but tasty.

Mandarin style flavors are spicy to me but yet refreshing also with ingredients like brown sugar, soy sauce and chili sauce your really going to be layering great flavor. So come on and follow this great tasting recipe and then decide for yourself on how you liked this recipe.

''Mandrin Style Roasted Pork''

1 6 to 8 pound roast pork

2 tablespoons of garlic powder

2 tablespoons of sea salt

2 table spoons of margarine

1 cup od chopped onion

1 cup of red plum preserves

3/4 cup of brown sugar

1/2 cup of water

2 tablespoons of lemon juice

1/2 cup of chili sauce

1/4 cup of soy sauce

2 teaspoons of Dijon mustard

3 drops of Tabasco

Method

Sprinkle the roast with the garlic and the sea salt, then rub the garlic and the sea salt into the meat real well. Place the roast fat side up in your roasting pan ....Now let it sit for 10 minutes ....while the meat is resting pre-heat your oven at 325 degrees. Place your roast in the oven at 325 for 2 hours or until the thermometer registers 185 degrees,

While your roast is roasting in the oven, Melt your margarine add your onions and cook them until tender, add the remaining ingredients then simmer on low heat for 15 minutes, when these ingredients are done set aside the get out your roast and pour off any excess fat that may be in the pan then pour 1/2 of the sauce on top of the roast and continue cooking as directed also continue basting the roast every 20 minutes until done then save the rest of the sauce to serve on the side if desired

When the roast is done remove from oven then let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.......Happy Eating.
