Candied Ginger Poached Pears

Candied Ginger Poached Pears

ingredients

3 cups water

1 1/4 of cup sugar

12 slices fresh ginger, sliced thinly

2 whole cinnamon sticks

1 tablespoon candied ginger

6 Anjou pears, peeled and cored

Method

Combine water, sugar, ginger, cinnamon and candied ginger, if desired, in 6 to 7 quart crock-pot slower cooker. Add pears then cover, cook on low 4 to 6 hours or on high 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

I suggest you slow cook then on a low setting but the high setting will work also.

Remove pears. Cook syrup, uncovered, 30 minutes or until thickened let cool then drizzle the syrup over the pears.

This dish is very simple to make but very delicate so be careful but enjoy.
